Commission Policy
Commission Policy:

All commission prices on this page are base costs, and subject to change on a case by case basis. An estimate will be given for each commission, and once the price is agreed upon it is not subject to change. Payment preference is for payment in full, up front on any item one hundred dollars or less. Payment plans can be worked out for items and orders larger than one hundred dollars, but are usually limited to half up front, half on delivery. Other payment plans for larger commissions will be taken under consideration upon request. In the case of payment plans any remainder of the commission price at the time of completion must be paid before the commission is turned over to the customer.

Commission Process:

The commission process will advance in steps.
Step 1.) A sketch of your commisson will be created, an exhibited for you to assess. If the sketch is satisfactory then it shall move on to step two. If not, revisions may be asked for (within reason) to make the structure of the drawing satisfactory, as per the revision policy below.

Step 2.) The sketch will be inked, if you provided references I will adhear to the coloring in thos references as closely as possible, if not I will do my best to provide a color pallet with which base colors that will be used in your commission can be chosen. Note that the colors provided may alter slightly to accommodate shading, and other elements of the final drawing. In the case of traditional media, such as markers, any major color corrections must be done at this point. Refer to the coloration revision policy below for further information.

Step 3.) The inked drawing will be colored with the color pallet specified. The finished piece will be shown to the client. Minor revisions will be considered at this step of the process on a case by case basis.

Revisions:

(Note: All revisions must be reasonable. If you are asking me to change the pose of a character in the sketch phase of an illustration, that is fine. If you are asking me to redraw the entire thing because you changed your mind, that is another story. Just use common sense when asking for revisions, especially major ones.)

Structure

Commissions fifty dollars in price, or greater: Revision of the structure of the drawing may be requested up to three times during the sketch phase of the drawing only. Revisions in excess of three will incur a fee of ten percent of the commission price per revision. No Exceptions.

Commissions less than fifty dollars in price: Revisions in excess of three will not be allowed. No Exceptions.

Coloration

Digital Media (Computer Colored Pieces)

Commissions fifty dollars in price, or greater: Coloration revisions in digital media may be requested one time before the completion of the piece. Revisions in coloration in excess of one will incur a fee of ten percent of the commission price per revision. No Exceptions.

Commissions less than fifty dollars in price: revisions in excess of one will not be allowed. No Exceptions.

Traditional Media (i.e. - Markers, Etcetera)

Coloration revisions in traditional media pieces are not permitted. During the process a color pallet of colors intended to be used will be provided before coloring begins. Because of the nature of traditional media, changes in coloration once coloring is completed are impossible. No Exceptions.

Commission Cancellations

I reserve the right to cancel any commission at any time for any reason I see fit. In a situation where a cancellation becomes necessary the following policy will be followed.

If a cancellation becomes necessary on the part of the commissioner and part of the commission work is completed.

If the commission is still in the first step of the process, a portion of the first half of the payment will be retained to cover the cost of the sketch. The remainder of the first half of the price will be refunded to the client, and the work completed will be sent to the client either via e-mail or the postal system.

If the commission has advanced to the second step of the commission process the first half of the payment will be kept. The commission work already completed will be sent to the commissioner either via e-mail, or the postal system.

If the commission has advanced to the third step of the process then no cancellation is possible on part of the commissioner. The piece will be completed, and held for a period of two months. If the commissioner cannot pay for the piece within that time I reserve the right to place the piece up for auction to recoup the second half of the payment.

If a cancellation becomes necessary on the part of the artist.

The results of a cancellation on part of the artist will be decided on a case by case basis.

This policy is subject to change, at any time, for any reason, without prior notification.
